Tommie Jo Northcutt White, better known as Mimi, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2025 in Eufaula, Alabama, at the age of 95. Jo was born at home in Jemison, Alabama to Lonnie Oneil Northcutt and Carrie Glass Northcutt on July 6, 1929. Mimi was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Beauregard, Alabama for over 70 years and has attended First Baptist Church of Eufaula since moving there in 2023.


She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, Joseph Allen White, her infant daughter Kay, her parents, her sister Sue Jetton, and her brother Ralph Powell.


After graduating from Jemison High School in 1947, she attended The Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in Birmingham, Alabama, graduating in 1950 as a Registered Nurse. Jo was a nurse at the Drake Infirmary at Alabama Polytechnic Institute (Auburn University) and later became the Operating Room Supervisor at Lee County Hospital (East Alabama Medical Center) until her retirement in 1994.


Mimi loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her many friends and care givers with all her heart. She faithfully served her Lord in many capacities throughout her life.


She is survived by her children Allen Neil White (Ann), Carol White Woodham, (Bubba), grandchildren Jonathan Woodham (Megan), Stephen Woodham (Katie), Michele White Jones (Matt), Brittany Woodham Bryan (Philip), and Amy White, and great-grandchildren Ginny Beth and Daniel Jones, Tucker, Sam, Watts, and Elle Woodham, Espy, Nell, and Wynn Woodham, John Philip and Cece Bryan, and a host of nieces and nephews.


Honorary Pallbearers are Jonathan Woodham, Stephen Woodham, Philip Bryan, Matt Jones, Mickey Parker, Luis Aleman, and the Joy Sunday School Class.


Visitation will be Wednesday, April 30, 2025 from 5:00 – 7:00 at Frederick – Dean Funeral Home in Opelika, Alabama. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, May 1, 2025 at 1:00 at Providence Baptist Church, East Campus, in Opelika, Alabama with beloved pastor, Dr. Rusty Sowell officiating. There will be a private family burial Thursday morning.


In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Providence Baptist Church.
