Diane M. Durkee, age 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at home in Janesville on Sunday, April 27, 2025. She was born on October 17, 1943, in Madison, WI, the daughter of Donald E. and Juanita A. (Collins) Woerth. Diane graduated from Waunakee High School in 1962. On June 28, 1974, she married Eugene “Gene” Durkee at St. Dennis Catholic Church in Madison.
For many years Diane worked at Hardee’s in Janesville and was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church. She enjoyed baking, working on puzzles, and her extensive travels with her husband which included several cruises all around the globe. Most of all, she enjoyed being in the company of family and friends.
Diane is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 51 years, Gene; two children, Bradley Durkee and Heather Durkee; and siblings, Linda Woerth, Kim Larson, and Craig (Kathy) Woerth. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, James Woerth, Pam Morehouse, Patti Rasmussen, and Scott Woerth.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church with a visitation at 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Interment will follow Mass at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
