It is with deep sadness that the family of Phyllis Anne Granton announces her peaceful passing on April 27, 2025, at Mackenzie Health - Richmond Hill Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family. She was 90 years old.
Born on July 27, 1934, in Toronto, Ontario, Phyllis lived a full and generous life defined by her unwavering love for her family, her strength of Catholic faith and enjoyment of close friendships. A dedicated mother, wife and sister, Phyllis was a registered nurse at St. Michaels Hospital in Toronto. Her passion for helping others led to her time working and volunteering at the Children’s Aid Society.
Phyllis was predeceased by her beloved husband Bernard, her dear son Michael, and her siblings Jack, Tom, Margaret, and Rita. She leaves behind a loving legacy through her children John (Brigitte), Joe, Bernice (Mark), and Jeff (Christine); her cherished grandchildren Elise, David, William, David, Rachel, Reed, and Brock; and her wonderful brother Norm.
A lifelong gardener, Phyllis found joy and peace in her yard at 64 Denham Drive, where she raised her family. She had a special fondness for orchids, which she tended to with pride and at times frustration. Despite suffering with arthritis for much of her adult life, Phyllis never let this slow her down and was an enthusiastic tennis player. On any given day she could be found reading in the living room, playing Bridge with friends or hoping her Toronto Maple Leafs might finally win another Cup!
