With heartfelt sympathy, the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc., and members of the Prince family announce the passing of Mrs. Paulette A. Prince of Lamar, SC. Mrs. Prince transitioned Saturday, April 26, 2025, at McLeod Regional Medical Center, in Florence, SC, following an illness.

Visitation for family and friends will be held daily at the residence, 4617 Oates Hwy, Lamar, SC.

Public viewing will be 12:00-4:00 PM, Thursday, May 1, 2025, at Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc., 612 S Main St, Darlington, SC.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, May 2, 2025, at Savannah Grove AME Church, 1401 Andrews Mill Rd, Lamar, SC. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Obituary

     Mrs. Paulette Prince, age 76, left this earthly life on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence, SC.

     Paulette, affectionately known to many as Mrs. P, was born in Florence County a daughter of the late Paul Wilton Andrew and Peggy Jane Bryant Andrews of Lamar, SC.

    Mrs. P. was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend and co-worker. Mrs. P. attended Darlington County Schools, graduating from Lamar High School class of 1967. After graduation, Mrs. P. earned her cosmetology license. She worked in cosmetology for several years before pursuing a career in manufacturing. She explored various avenues within manufacturing but ultimately landed a position with the Darlington County School District. Mrs. P. worked in the capacity of cafeteria staff, but her greatest love was being a compassionate bus driver to the thousands of children she transported for more than 20 years before she retired. After retiring, Mrs. P. enjoyed shopping (especially at her favorite store Hamrick’s), watching the stories and crocheting. You could often find her completing puzzles or making her family's favorite desserts.

     Mrs. P. entered into a relationship with Msgt. Bobby L. Prince Sr. The two were married on May 31, 2008, in Lamar, SC. The couple shared more than 30 plus years together of making beautiful memories, in which she also gained a bonus family.

     Mrs. P. leaves behind to cherish her memories: her husband, Bobby L. Prince, Sr; bonus children: Ms. Sonya Prince and Mrs. Keidra (Kenneth) Prince both of Darlington, SC, Mr. Bobby Prince Jr., of San Antonio, TX, Mrs. Rondelle (Michael) Wheeler of Hartsville, SC, and Ms. Shauntelle Prince of the home; Grandchildren: Calniesha Breeland, Calvin Breeland Jr., Kenajah Greene, Kiyah Greene, Michael Wheeler Jr., Avelisse Prince, Joye Wheeler, Kyle Johnson, Penelope Prince, and Saige Wheeler. Great-grandchildren: Cairo Breeland, Cari Breeland, and Lynox Greene. A host of other close friends and relatives. Her special fur babies: Lulu and Chester.

    Mrs. P. was preceded in death by her bonus son, Mr. Elandus Bobby Prince.
