Fayo Dean Edwards, age 87, of Festus, Missouri, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2025, at NHC Desloge in Desloge, Missouri. She was born December 12, 1937, in Perryville, Missouri, the daughter of the late Catherine Susan (nee Bollinger) and Otto F. Leonard.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Larry Herbert Edwards; sons Mark Herbert (Deborah survives of Festus) Edwards, Tye William (Diane survives of Festus) Edwards and Scott Allen Edwards; and siblings Ivd “Dee” (the late Wayne Roy, Sr.) Thomason and Paul (Betty survives of Arvada, Colorado) Leonard.

She is survived by her grandchildren Anna Mayer, Megan Stemick, Samuel Edwards, Tye Edwards, Michael Edwards, Brooke Cage, Tara Edwards, Whitney Payne and Logan Edwards; and great-grandchildren Payton Fenwick, Lane Mayer, Nash Fenwick, Tayrn Edwards, Sophie Edwards, Stella Stemick, Dylan Stemick, Sawyer Edwards, Wrensely Edwards, Callie Winch, Tucker Winch, Bailey Winch, Addison Payne, Raegan Payne, Jaidyn Payne, Liam Edwards Ivey Edwards, Waylon Payne, Austin Payne and Avery Edwards.

Fayo was a member of First United Methodist Church of Festus/Crystal City, and the Jefferson County Squares, and was the owner/operator of Fayo’s Beauty Shop.

Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of funeral services at 12:00 P.M. Friday, May 2, 2025 at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus, officiated by Rev. Dr. Tish Green of First United Methodist Church. Interment to follow in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City, Missouri. Memorials in Fayo’s name are preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association.
