Shirley Mae Bergman Obituary

Shirley Mae Bergman, 80, of Russellville, Missouri, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025. She was born on March 13, 1945, in Sweet Springs, Missouri, the daughter of Roy and Erma (Burfiend) Pace.

A 1963 graduate of Sweet Springs High School, Shirley dedicated much of her life to service and hard work. She worked as a bookkeeper for the State of Missouri, spending the final years of her career with the Missouri Division of the Blind. She also provided clerical support for Riley Chevrolet.

Shirley had a zest for life and a deep appreciation for the simple joys it offered. She loved classic cars and was a regular at car shows. Music was another passion—she enjoyed listening, dancing, and filling her days with rhythm and joy. Gardening brought her peace, and she found happiness tending to her flowers and plants.

She was a proud and active member of the Eagles Lodge in California, Missouri, where she once served as Auxiliary President. One of her greatest joys was traveling to watch her grandson’s baseball games, always the most enthusiastic supporter in the stands.

Shirley is survived by her loving children: son Michael (Donna), daughters Sherry Hirschvogel (Roger) and Jerri Lynn (Larry); her grandchildren: Heather (Matt), Traci (Adam), Brett (Jessica), Jordan, Emily (Gary), Spencer, and Rebecca; and several great-grandchildren, who brought her endless pride and happiness. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry, and son, Harold.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Saturday, May 3rd from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with a service to follow at 1:00 p.m., at Weber-Millard Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, a cause close to Shirley’s heart.

Arrangements are under the direction of HOUSER-MILLARD Funeral Directors, 2613 W. Main St.; Jefferson City, MO 65109. (573) 636-3838. Condolences may be left for the family online at www.millardfamilychapels.com
