Michael Eugene Allen Obituary

Michael E. Allen, of Republic, MO, went to be with the Lord on April 26, 2025 at the age of 83, with his loving family by his side. He was born on September 02, 1941, in Dayton, Ohio to Clyde and Emma Jane (Hodson) Allen and was the second oldest of six children in the home.

Mike graduated from Beavercreek High School with the class of 1959. In 1960, he enlisted in the US Navy honorably serving his country for four years and served on the aircraft carrier USS Valley Forge as an Airedale. On March 11,1962, Mike married Wanda Kay Peck, and they were blessed with four children, Lori, Bret, Kevin and Joel. For many years Mike owned the Sohio service station in Bellbrook, Ohio, and finished his working career as the Director of OEM Sales at Dayco of Dayton, Ohio where he worked for over 17 years. In 2017, Mike and Kay relocated from Florida to Missouri to be closer to family and in his words “freeze his tail off”. He was an avid Ohio State fan and an accomplished athlete, in his own right. During his free time, you could find him on the golf course practicing his game. Mike was a scratch golfer for most of his life, an Ohio Allstate basketball player in high school and received a basketball scholarship to Central State University in Ohio. Later in life he transferred to Missouri State University graduating with a bachelor's degree in business. Mike loved his family and the time they were able to spend together, especially their annual family trips to Manitoulin Island in Canada to fish and boat. He took pride in his yard and enjoyed manicuring his lawn and landscaping to ensure it was the best in the neighborhood. Mike was a Mason, a longtime member of The Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Lodge 321 in Beavercreek, Ohio, and enjoyed woodworking projects in his spare time.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Colleen Sullivan and two brothers James and Thomas Allen.

Mike is survived by his loving wife Kay, children Lori (Kevin) Foster, Bret (Stacie) Allen, Kevin (Denise) Allen and Joel (Kristina) Allen, grandchildren Ashley Foster, Aaron Allen, Andrea (Jeremy) Graddy, Nick (Sydney) Allen, Beau (Jenahlyn) Allen, Caden Allen, Cameron Allen and Carson Allen, great grandchildren Layla Allen, Samual Graddy, Bridget Graddy, Archie Allen, Barrett Allen and Walker Allen, siblings Mark Allen and Tim (Pat) Allen as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family and countless friends.

He will be escorted to Missouri Veterans Cemetery by The Warrior Watch Riders where he will receive full military honors. If desired, donations may be made to The Warrior Watch Riders in his honor.
