Ray A. Carson, 88, went to his heavenly home that Jesus had prepared for him on Sunday, April 27, 2025 at home.

He was born on April 24, 1937, in Alum Bank; son of the late Tom and Gladys (Mock) Carson.

On August 13, 1962, he married B. Paulene (Taylor) Carson, daughter of Harold and Eva (Mock) Taylor. They spent their married life living on Dunkard Hollow Rd.

Ray is survived by his wife, Paulene; son, Stephen married to Cynthia (Beegle) Carson; daughter, Lisa Callihan; six grandchildren, Derek Callihan Married to Janae; Travis Callihan Married to Vanessa; Jared Callihan; Ashley Carson; Aaron Carson; Stephanie married to Johnathon Henry; great grandchildren, Isaiah, Leyila, Brook, Ava, Addison, Abby, and John; sisters, Shirley and Violet.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Mervin (Pete), Infant Elsie Marie, Clark, Jack, Mildred, Roy, Robert (Bob).

Ray worked at the Church of the Brethren Home in Scalp Level for almost 40 years when he retired as a CNA. After work he enjoyed talking to the residents. Many wanted him to talk about his faith in Jesus and how they could have that faith. One of his favorite things was to go hunting deer. He had several racks of horns to prove his success. Another thing he enjoyed was going fishing with his grandson and great grandchildren which provided memories to remember.

Ray was a member of the Ryot Church of the Nazarene and one of the things he missed most when his health was failing was not being able to attend Church.

Friends and family will be received on Thursday, May 1 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Friday, May 2 from 10 am until the hour of the funeral service at 11 a.m. all at the Ryot Church of the Nazarene, where he was a member, with Pastor Kevin Davis officiating.

Interment will be held at the Mount Union Cemetery, Lovely, Pa.
