TORNILLO, Marjorie Ruth (nee Earnshaw), age 98, of Paramus, died on April 27, 2025. Born on October 6, 1926 in Passaic to Tom Earnshaw and Sadie Scowcroft, she grew up in North Haledon and attended Hawthorne High School. She later moved to Clifton and after she married the family moved to Paramus where she spent the rest of her life. She married Arthur Schroeder at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Paterson on April 12, 1947 and started her loving family.

Marjorie made a loving home and was always an encourager. She thought of her family above all else, as evidenced by amazing holiday times and fun summer vacations at Lake Hopatcong and Ocean Grove. After the children grew up, the family would continue to gather on Long Beach Island.

Marjorie was an interior designer with Charles Reed Construction in Paramus, a member of the Arcola Methodist Church in Paramus, and a watercolorist and avid bridge player.

She is predeceased by her first husband, Arthur Schroeder, her second husband, Russell Tornillo, and two sons, Arthur Brian Schroeder and David Schroeder. She is survived by her beloved son, Tom Schroeder with wife Monica, two dear daughters-in-law, Susan Schroeder and Carol Ann Schroeder, three cherished grandchildren, Karen Schroeder with husband Marcelo Mattar, Sarah Schroeder and Jacob Schroeder, and two adored great-grandchildren, Iris and Cleo.

The Graveside Service will be at 12:30 pm on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Marjorie’s name to the Ramapo-Bergen Animal Shelter, 2 Shelter Lane, Oakland, NJ 07436. The Tornillo and Schroeder families are in the care of the Aloia Funeral Home, 180 Harrison Ave., Garfield (973-340-7077).
