Beverly "Bev" Alyce Niehaus
(April 18, 1963 - April 26, 2025)
Beverly "Bev" Alyce Niehaus of Strome, Alberta, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at the age of 62 years.
Born to Betty and Gerald Karpovich, Bev was the beloved only daughter among three brothers. Raised in Daysland, Alberta, she grew up with a passion for hockey, figure skating, piano, and baton—always keeping up with the boys and lighting up every room with her energy. She was a cherished friend to many.
Bev met the love of her life, John, at a concert. They married on April 17, 1982, and shared 43 beautiful years together. Together, they raised three daughters, built a life on the farm, travelled, and supported each other through every season. Bev welcomed sons-in-law and grandchildren with open arms and an open heart.
She dedicated 34 years to Fortis Alberta, where she was known for her integrity, commitment, and infectious positivity. Often called the “sunshine” of the office, her warmth left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege to work alongside her.
But Bev’s greatest pride and joy was always her family. She was the heart of their home—the glue that held everyone together. A devoted wife, loving mother, adoring grandmother, and caring daughter and sister. She was everyone’s cheerleader, safe place, and steady support. If you needed a listening ear, a helping hand, or a warm hug, Bev was always there.
She leaves behind her loving husband, John; their three daughters, Darcie (Glen), Janiel (Charlie), and Lyndsey (Mike); and twelve treasured grandchildren. She is also survived by her father, Gerald; her three brothers, Kevin (Iris) and family, Elvin (Teresa), and Wayne (Kim); John’s siblings and their families; her Fortis Alberta family; and many dear friends. Bev was predeceased by her mother Betty Karpovich; and John's parents Henry and Eileen Niehaus.
Bev touched countless lives with her love, generosity, and kindness.
A Funeral Service was held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, May 5, 2025 at CityLights Church, 4920 48 Street Camrose, officiated by Rev. MaryAnn Pastuck. The service was livestreamed and can be viewed at the following link: CityLights Church.
If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions in Bev's memory may be made to St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary.
Her absence leaves an immeasurable void.
She will be missed more than words can say.
Forever in our hearts.
