1941-2025


Dalton Dee Hodge, 83, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2025.

He was born August 25, 1941 in Romance, Arkansas, to Charles and Dester (Covington) Hodge.

Dalton proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, where he received a Purple Heart and the Army Commendation Medal for Heroism while serving in Vietnam.

On August 23, 1969, Dalton married Joy Irene Beers. She preceded him in death on December 18, 2023.

He worked in the construction and asphalt industry, and was a member of the Teamsters union.

Dalton loved animals, especially his dog Bridger, and cat Darcy.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Joy; his parents; son, Christopher L. Hodge; two sisters, Joy and Bonnie; and four brothers, Glen, Donald, Cyril and Jimmy.

Survivors include his sons, Travis W. Hodge and Darin Hodge (Theresa); grandchildren; and extended family and friends.

Service 1:00 P.M. Friday, May 9, Simplify Cremations & Funerals. Inurnment Ashland Cemetery at a later date. Online guest book and obituary at www.simplifyfunerals.com.
