Joan C. Wilzbacher, 93, of Evansville, IN, died on April 26, 2025, at North River Health Campus.
Joan was born on February 14, 1932, to Henry and Elenora Graper.
Joan was a member of St. James Catholic Church, Haubstadt, IN. While at St. James, she was a member of the Daughters of Isabella, Altar Society, Quilters Team, the choir, and she also helped with church socials. Joan loved playing Clabber with “the girls”. She graduated from the then Evansville College in 1954 with a degree in Medical Technology. She worked and taught in the lab at Deaconess Hospital for over 40 years.
Joan is survived by her children Michael Wilzbacher, Evansville, IN; Cheryl (Jeff) Green, Cleveland, OH; Nancy Wilzbacher, Bloomington, IN; Thomas (Cindi) Wilzbacher, Wadesville, IN; and Kathleen (Dan) Coffin, Fort Wayne, IN. Grandchildren Brandy (Mark) Glowski, Kacy (Lucas McNutt) Varvel, Adam (Tomasina) Green, Christan (Luke) Bury, Lauren (Tony) Morien, Allison (Devan) Sadler, and Megan (Devin) Bultemeier, and 14 great grandchildren.
Joan is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene (2008); her parents, Henry and Elenora Graper; and sister, Marilyn Johnston.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 2, 2025, at St. James Catholic Church in Haubstadt at 10:00 A.M. with Father Kenneth Betz as celebrant. Visitation will be from 8:00 a.m. until 9:40 a.m. with a rosary service beginning at 9:40 a.m. until mass time. A committal service will follow mass at St. James Cemetery.
