Ashely Steven Nichols, 50, was born on January 10, 1975 and passed away on April 27, 2025 to James and Katie Nichols in Wilson NC. Steven lived most of his life in Bryson City, NC. Later in life he went by Steven, but for those who went to school with him they would call him Ashley of Ash. Steven enjoyed smoking Flavored or Regular Cigars whenever his brother Kris would get them for him.

Steven is survived by his mother Katie Nichols; Brother, Meannie Paul Nicholson; I called him Meannie but niece Lisa called him Dangleberry; Niece, Lisa Cagle (Edwards); brother, Kris Johnson; nephew, Shannon Collins; sister, Rebecca Nichols.

Steven was preceded in death by a niece, Jennifer Ann Collins; grandmother, Fannie Ball Evans; grandmother, Velma Gladden; Father, James Nichols; great niece, Savannah Collins; Sister, Trish Crosland, and many others.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Thursday at Crisp Funeral Home Chapel. Brother Marty Pressley will officiate with burial at Swain Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM Thursday at the Funeral Home.
