Wayne Allen Henson Obituary

Wayne Allen Henson, beloved brother, uncle, mentor, and friend passed away on April 27, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on March 31, 1958, Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Henson and Mabel Crew, his stepfather Tom Webb, his sister Deborah Hitchcock (David), and his brothers Harold Henson (Sharon) and Marvin Henson (Georgia). Tiena Henson, his sister-in-law, also preceded him in death.


Wayne is survived by his devoted twin brother Wesley Henson; his siblings Patricia Richardson (James), Frankie Henson (Viola), Wanda Weems (Larry), Jackie Gilham (Mickey), Connie Witter (Anthony), and Tony Henson (Cindy). Additionally, Wayne leaves behind a host of cherished nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and even great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, who all remember him with great fondness and love.


Wayne dedicated countless hours to the Boy Scouts, where he played a pivotal role as a leader in several troops. His passion for mentoring younger scouts was immense, guiding them on their journey to earn the prestigious Eagle Scout rank and beyond. Known for his culinary skills, Wayne could always be found in the kitchen during camping trips, ensuring everyone was well-fed and happy. He firmly believed that his calling in life was to mentor these boys, helping them to become the best version of themselves.


Wayne’s professional life was marked by his long tenure at Valspar/Sherwin Williams, where he worked diligently for many years. During his time there, he formed strong and lasting bonds with his coworkers, who became like family to him. Wayne’s commitments to his job and the relationships he built with his colleagues exemplified his loyal and caring nature.


In lieu of flowers, the family kindly request that donations be made to the Boy Scouts of America, an organization that held a special place in Wayne’s heart.


Wayne Allen Henson’s legacy of love, mentorship, and dedication to family, friends, and the Boy Scouts will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His memory will be forever cherished.
