Frank Genochio Obituary
Francis (Frank) Michael Genochio, age 81, passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 26, 2025.
Frank joined this earthly circus on the 5th day of August, 1943. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving honorably from October 26, 1966 - October 24, 1969. Frank received the National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was an active member of the American Legion Post #562, Cumming, Iowa.
Survived by Carol Slater (his partner of 50 years); Lisa Longman (John), daughter; Jerry Slater (Laurie), son; and granddaughters Amanda Mason and Mindy Mason.
The family will greet friends from 4:00pm to 6:00pm, Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at Iles Grandview Park Chapel, 3211 Hubbell Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa 50317. Graveside committal services will be at 12:30pm, Thursday, May 1, 2025 at Iowa Veterans Cemetery, 34024 Veterans Memorial Drive, Van Meter, Iowa 50261. Mile marker #113 off Interstate 80.
Military honors at IVC will be rendered by the IAARNG Honor Team, Camp Dodge, Iowa and American Legion Post #562, Cumming, Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, Frank would like memorial contributions to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
