Mary Jane Flynn, 90, of Providence, passed away peacefully on Sunday April 27 th .
Born in Chicago, IL, she was a daughter of the late Cervante and Marie (Powers) Kelley.
She received her Bachelor’s degree from Depauw University and earned her Master’s degree from Providence College.
Mrs. Flynn was an Elementary School Teacher for the City of Providence at the Martin Luther King School, for many years, before retiring. She enjoyed sewing, reading, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Bernard and her husband Paul, and Melissa Flynn and her long time partner Karen Cadier; and two granddaughters, Sarah Bernard and Megan Bernard.
A memorial service will be held at The Church of the Redeemer, 655 Hope Street, Providence on Saturday May 10th at 11:00 am.
