Penny Jane Moore, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, passed away on April 26, 2025, at the age of 75.

Born on June 18, 1949, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Penny dedicated her early career to caring for others at Hattiesburg Clinic OB-GYN. On October 16, 1979, she married the love of her life, and was sealed for all time and eternity in the Salt Lake City, Utah temple to James Wesley Moore. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and service.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, James Moore; two daughters Jennifer (Daniel) Azzopardi of Wiggins and Kelly (Zachary) Hales of Petal; and her brother, David (Demaris) Lee of Petal. Her legacy continues through her four cherished grandchildren: Zachary Azzopardi and Levi, Elora, and Oliver Hales. She is preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Ashley Elizabeth Moore, her parents Billy and Joy Lee and two sisters Debbie Lee and Billy Jo Newell.

Known for her kindness, grace, and unwavering commitment to serving those around her, Penny touched countless lives with her gentle spirit and compassionate heart. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and inspiring those who knew her.

Penny had a zest for life, often expressing her joy through her love of music and dancing. She also enjoyed traveling to new places and meeting new people. She never met a stranger.

A Celebration of Penny's Life will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. with service to following at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Moore Funeral home in Wiggins. Interment will be at Wiggins City Cemetery. All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend and honor her memory.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The 3D School (Dynamic Dyslexia Design), where her grandson Levi attends, in recognition of Penny’s lifelong dedication to supporting and nurturing those she loved.
