Joseph D’Avena, 86, of Hyannis, passed away at home on April 27, 2025. Born in Boston, MA, he was the son of the late Vincenzo and Maria D’Avena.
Joseph was a hard- working man his entire life, beginning from the age of five. He was a Korean War Veteran serving in the US Army. Joseph touched many lives, his character, humor, and wit enabled him to have many long- lasting relationships. His family was the most important aspect of his life.
Joseph is survived by his daughter Dineen D’Avena and her husband Michael Herlihy of Brewster, his son Vincent D’Avena and his wife Ayesha, their children Michael & Robert, all of McLean, VA. He also leaves his sister Aurelia Battista of Milford, MA.
Visitation will be on Thursday May 1, 2025 from 11 AM to Noon in Christ the King Chapel, Job’s Fishing Road, Mashpee, MA. A Funeral Mass will immediately follow at Noon. Burial will be in the MA National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
Memorials in Joseph’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
