Billy Duffels Obituary

William Francis Duffels, "Billy," passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025, at the age of 59. Billy was a lifelong resident of Romeoville, Illinois and worked as a dedicated roofer in the Union for 29 years, a job he took pride in, often sharing stories and laughter with his fellow workers. He was a loyal fan of the Chicago White Sox and the Bears, and he never missed an opportunity to cheer them on. Billy also had a passion for NASCAR and enjoyed spending Sundays watching the races. He was a devoted dog lover, often seen with his furry companions by his side, enjoying the simple pleasures of life. Bill had a warm spirit and a great sense of humor, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met. Billy was an athlete in his younger days, playing Pop Warner football, contributing to several championship wins for his teams, enjoying the Turkey Bowl at St. Andrew's. He loved participating in any sports, including three-wheeling and snowmobiling as well.


Billy is survived by his siblings Anna Foran, and Joe, Marty, Dennis (Joyce), Theresa (John) Hart, and Thomas Duffels. He was a proud uncle to numerous nieces and nephews, was a fond nephew of Anna McDonnell, Eileen (Ernie) Nottger and Ola Duffels and a dear cousin. William was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary Duffels, and sister, MaryEllen Knipp.


Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 from 4-7 pm at Anderson Memorial Chapel, 606 Townhall Dr, Romeoville, IL 60446. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, 10 am at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, Romeoville IL. Friends and family are invited to come together to celebrate his life, share stories, and honor the joy that Bill brought into their lives. May God bless him as he climbs the stairway to Heaven. Cremation rites to be accorded.
