In Loving Memory of Jimmy Hughes

June 2, 1936 – April 27, 2025

Jimmy Hughes, age 88, of Enumclaw, Washington, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025. Born on June 2, 1936, in Gorst, Washington, Jimmy lived a life marked by service, hard work, and deep love for his family.

Jimmy served proudly as a Master Chief in the U.S. Navy Seabees, where his leadership and dedication left a lasting impact. Following his military career, he continued serving his community as a member of the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office. He later worked for Yellow Freight, bringing the same dedication and reliability to every role he took on.

Jimmy is survived by his beloved wife, Jackie; his daughter, Cindy; his brother, Frank; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He is also lovingly remembered by his bonus children, Candi (with husband Drew) and Joe (with wife Laura & family), along with grandchildren Gary (with girlfriend Jessica), Chelsey (with husband Jay), Kamryn (with husband E), and Adam.

Jimmy found joy in the simple things—camping with family, fishing, and spending time outdoors. His sense of humor, steady presence, and generous heart will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Jimmy’s honor on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Mountain Villa Estates, 1099 Mountain Villa Loop, Enumclaw, WA 98022. Light food and drinks will be provided, and all who knew and loved Jimmy are welcome to attend and share memories.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jimmy’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society. Cards for the family are welcome and may be brought to the Celebration.
