Mary F. Daly (Maloney), age 92, a faith-filled and cherished member of the Milton community, passed away peacefully at Standish Village in Dorchester. Her life was a testament to the strength and love that bonds a family and community together.
Born in Charlestown, MA, Mary was a proud graduate of Girls High in Boston. She spent her formative years there, developing a strong foundation in education that would guide her through a lifetime of service and engagement with those around her.
Mary was the beloved wife of the late Robert F. Daly, and together they shared a life filled with love and mutual respect. She was a devoted mother to her sons, Thomas Daly and his wife Tracy of Summerville, S.C., and Stephen Daly and his wife Melissa of Winter Garden, FL. Mary took great joy in her family, and nothing could surpass the pride she felt for her grandson, Thomas F. Daly of Little Rock, AK. She was the caring sister of the late Margaret M. Aaron, Helen T. Collins, Virginia Maguire, and Patricia Cooley, all of whom shared in the rich tapestry of her life.
Professionally, Mary was a dedicated employee at Fallon Insurance in Milton for a decade, after which she continued her career at Pike Insurance in Milton for an additional fifteen years. Her work ethic and commitment to her colleagues and clients were evident in all her endeavors.
Beyond her professional life, Mary was deeply involved in her community. She was an active member of the Milton Mother's Club, and her leadership skills shone through during her tenure as the Past President of the St. Agatha Bowling League. Her spiritual life was enriched by her involvement with the St. Agatha Ladies Sodality, where she found great solace and fellowship. Mary's love for her community was further demonstrated through her contributions to the Castle Island Assn and the Ladies of St. Finbar Assn. These associations benefited greatly from her dedication and spirit of service.
Mary's interests and activities reflected her vibrant personality and her commitment to the values she held dear. She was a beacon of faith and an example of how to live a life filled with purpose and joy. Her involvement in various associations was not just a pastime but a significant part of her identity—one that she embraced with enthusiasm and grace.
As we remember Mary, we celebrate a life that was lived with an unwavering faith and a boundless capacity to love. She was a guiding light to her family, a steadfast friend to many, and a generous soul who left an indelible mark on the hearts of those she touched. Her legacy is one of kindness, service, and an unshakeable belief in the goodness of people.
Mary’s journey on earth may have come to a close, but her spirit endures in the memories of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her life's story is a beautiful tapestry woven with threads of devotion, compassion, and an enduring faith that uplifted everyone around her.
