Millie Kukhta (née Dimich) passed away with family by her side on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at the age of 91.

Millie married Donald Gerald Kukhta in 1959, who passed away in 2017. They were residents of Fonthill since 1962 and raised a family of four active children, Beverly (James), Michael (Nancy), Allison (Marc), and Brian (Kelly-Ann) who are forever grateful for their love and support which included endless transportation to their various school, sports and music activities. Their home was always a welcome hub for family, friends, and scores of young people. They had wonderful relationships with their ten grandchildren: Jean-Luc, Benjamin, Xavier, Emily, William, André, Devlin, Benoît, Teagan, and Katrina which added to their great love of family.

Millie was born in 1934 in Port Colborne, Ontario to Luka (Louis) and Danica Dimich, but was raised with her sisters Mary and Alice by her father and loving stepmother Ljubica (Violet) as Danica died when the girls were very young. The family subsequently expanded with the addition of siblings Stella (predeceased), Louis (predeceased) and Danny.

After high school, Millie worked in administration at Fleet Canada Fort Erie and Niagara Structural Steel. Later, she worked for many years at the Niagara Region Conservation Authority. After retiring, she and Don stayed busy with family, friends, bowling and enjoying pie and coffee at Keith’s.

We want to thank all the staff at Woodlands of Sunset for their exemplary care during the almost six years of her residence there.

Cremation has taken place and a funeral service will be held at a later date to be communicated once set.
