April 27, 2025 – Calgary, Alberta

Danilo Lacayo, beloved husband of Ana Dolores Lacayo (nee Alvarado), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at the age of 71 years.

Danilo was born in San Salvador, El Salvador, on June 25, 1953. He immigrated to Canada from El Salvador in 1986 and moved to Calgary, AB, in 1993. Danilo graduated from Lethbridge College, AB, with college upgrading and an apprenticeship degree as a Master “B” Pressure Welder. He married Ana Lacayo in 1991 and was a proud member of the Boilermaker Union.

Danilo accomplished much through his life and was particularly proud of his family and personal achievements. He enjoyed sports, especially soccer, loved listening to music, and had a passion for travel. At home, he often spent time watching musical videos. Danilo’s most memorable vacation was a winter trip to Los Angeles, CA.

His favourite sayings were “Chupa” when caught by surprise and “Trinoly” when he was dressed very well. Danilo will be most remembered for his desire to do things above and beyond.

Besides his loving wife, Ana Dolores, Danilo is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Cecilia (Manuel) of Los Angeles, CA, and Kitty (Enrrique) of Vancouver, BC; three sons and daughters-in-law, Milton (Aracely) of Lethbridge, AB, Carlos (Coralia) of Calgary, AB, and Harnel (Ana) of Calgary, AB; ten grandchildren, Michelle and Daniel of Los Angeles, CA, Javier, Alison, and Denilson of Vancouver, BC, Carla and Edson of Calgary, AB, Kristian of Lethbridge, AB, and Eiden and Dilan of Calgary, AB; and six great-grandchildren, Jaylen and Milita Taylor of Los Angeles, CA, Isaias of Los Angeles, CA, Solaris of Vancouver, BC, Rory of Calgary, AB, and Santana of Lethbridge, AB. Danilo is also survived by his brother, Salvador (Chamba), and two sisters, Lidia and Juana, all of El Salvador.
