Dr. Martin J. Davis Obituary

Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, May 2, 2025 in the Leonard-Marker Funeral Home Chapel, 6521 E 151st St S, Bixby, OK 74008 with Dr. Larry DeLay officiating.

Dr. Martin J. Davis, known affectionately as Marty to his friends and family and Peeps to his grandchildren, passed away peacefully from natural causes on April 26, 2025, at the age of 77, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born on December 24, 1947, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Marty's life was one marked by dedication, joy, and an unwavering commitment to the well-being of others.

Marty's journey was as remarkable as the man himself. After graduating from Park College in Parkville Missouri, he proudly served his country as a cobra attack helicopter pilot in the Army, and as Chief Warrant Officer 2.  He began his professional career in pharmaceutical sales then decided, in his thirties, to pursue a career in medicine, graduating with a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from OSU College of Osteopathic Medicine. His passion for healing led him to a fulfilling career as a family medicine doctor, where he became a pillar of his community, touching countless lives with his skill and compassion, caring for multi-generational families.

Marty was the loving husband of Wendy F. Davis, and together they raised a family that was the center of their world. His children, Kristen, Ashley, Adrienne, and Taylor, were the recipients of his boundless love and support.

Those who knew Marty will remember him not only for his professional achievements but also for his infectious sense of humor and his love for life. He loved participating in sports, his favorites being tennis and basketball. He played basketball on the All Army Team and was a top tier tennis player in Oklahoma.  Marty could always be seen from miles away wearing bright and fun colors out on the tennis court, where he radiated happiness playing his heart out.  In addition, he had a lifelong fascination with weather and aviation.

Marty's character can be best described in three words: loving, funny, and selfless. His ability to light up a room with a well-timed joke or offer a helping hand without a second thought was unparalleled. His legacy is one of laughter, love, and the countless lives he improved both as a doctor and as a human being.

Dr. Martin J. Davis will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His spirit, characterized by boundless love and an ever-present smile, will continue to inspire those he leaves behind. As we say goodbye to Marty, we celebrate a life well-lived, a life that truly made a difference.

Marty is survived by his wife Wendy F. Davis, daughter Kristen Davis and son in law Marc Cerabona, daughter Ashley McNamara and son in law Steve McNamara Jr., daughter Adrienne Palibrk and son in law Marko Palibrk and son Taylor Davis and partner Matthew Moriarity, as well as grandchildren Cole and Riley Cerabona, Loretta and Van McNamara, MacKenzie, Makayla and Myles Guier and Madelyn Palibrk, who all love their precious Peeps.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to CLOVES Syndrome Community or Clarehouse. CLOVES Syndrome Community was founded by his daughter Kristen in honor of his granddaughter Riley and Clarehouse is the nonprofit Hospice House where Marty lived peacefully for the remaining hours of his life.

Guests are encouraged to wear bright colors to celebrate Marty.
