James Carman Ruppel of Listowel, and formerly of Trowbridge, passed away with his wife beside him, as always, at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Sunday, April 27, 2025, in his 78th year.

Husband of Ruth (Lee) Ruppel. Father of Connie Hummel of Brussels, and treasured grandfather of Robert Hummel.

Brother of Bernice Noble of Hanover, and brother-in-law of Lorne Lee of Palmerston, and Elaine Lee, and Robert and Christine Lee, all of Listowel.

Predeceased by his parents Oscar and Beccie (Smith) Ruppel, parents-in-law Elmer and Shirley (Tucker) Lee, brother Lawrence Ruppel and wife Marg, sisters Edythe Smith and husband Ross, and brother-in-law Carl Noble.

Visitation will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel, on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Interment and committal services will be held at Elma Centre Cemetery, Elma Township, on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. The Celebration of Carman’s life will follow at the Elma Memorial Community Centre, Atwood, on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with reception immediately after. The service will be live-streamed.
