Patricia Ann Asztalos,

Patricia Ann Asztalos, age 77, of Joliet, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Solstice Senior Living.  She was born on July 29, 1947, in Chicago, IL, the cherished daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Kozar.

Her nurturing disposition and dedication to helping others were evident throughout her life and career as a teacher’s aide, working at both Morton East and West High School. Her warm presence positively impacted students and colleagues alike, leaving a lasting legacy of compassion and support in the school communities she served.

Patricia’s life was a testament to kindness and quiet strength. She never met a stranger and was often told she was “too nice.”  Pat found joy in a good game of bingo, or watching her favorite soap opera star, Sonny Corinthos, on General Hospital, never missing an episode.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Steven Asztalos; her parents; and her granddaughter, Elizabeth Kuhlow.

She is survived by her son, Brian (Aracely) Asztalos; daughter, Terri (Scott) Johnson; grandchildren, Jennifer (Jeffrey) Amoako, Nicholas (Chelsy) Kuhlow, Samantha (James) Black, and Brian Asztalos, Jr. (Fiance Aryahna Mendez); great-grandchildren, Andre Simons, Amaya Johnson, Jameson and Everly Kuhlow, Thomas Black, and Morgan Black; adopted daughter, Mariah Schendel; her siblings, Kathy Wilson and Jerry Cooper; and her very best friend, Barb Scarpico.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Tom Maloney, the best chauffer Patricia had.

As it was Patricia’s request, cremation rites have been accorded. All friends and family are invited to the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, on Saturday, May 10, 2025, for a Memorial Gathering from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name can be made to The American Cancer Society.
