JOLLOTA, Gerald ‘Brian’ age 84, passed away peacefully at the Aberdeen Palliative Care Unit on April 26, 2025. Born in Lyons Brook a son of Elmer and Bertha Jollota. After leaving the Army, Brian moved to Scarborough, Ontario, where he worked for Hookeye, then General Motors Van plant where he worked for 30 years. Brian was happiest walking in nature, bird watching or hunting and fishing. He loved his ‘fly in’ fishing trips in Northern Ontario. Brian is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Vivian (Gass), his sisters-in-law, Joan (Fraser) MacDougall and Irene McLearn; brother-in-law, Earl Gass and many nieces and nephews. Brian had a special bond with his nieces, Linda Dobson, Shirley Howlet and Cindy Whynott. He will be dearly missed by all. He was predeceased by his parents; Vivian’s parents, Edith and Cecil Gass; his brother, Ivan Jollota; his sister, Zeta Sullivan; nephews, Eric, Jimmy Jollota; and brother-in-law, Lloyd Gass. Visitation will be held at the Lyons Brook Hall on Saturday May 3 from 1-2 PM with the funeral to follow at 2 PM with Rev. Jim Webber-Cook officiating. Family flowers only. Family burial will take place at Seaview Cemetery following the reception at the hall. Donations in Brian’s memory may be made to the Lyons Brook Church, Hope for Wildlife, the SPCA or a charity of your choice.
