Jose Luis Sosa Cardenas, affectionately known to many as Jose, passed away peacefully due to natural causes on April 26, 2025, in Durham, North Carolina. He was 53 years old.

Born on January 23, 1972, in Mexico, Jose spent his early years deeply connected to his roots before eventually making his home in the United States. His dedication and hard work were evident throughout his career as a heavy equipment operator, a profession where he excelled and took immense pride.

Outside of work, Jose had a passion for working on cars and motorcycles, often spending countless hours immersed in repairing and enhancing engines with meticulous care. An aficionado of 80's rock music, he found joy in the timeless rhythms and melodies that filled his life with vibrant sound. Jose also cherished the tranquil moments spent fishing, where he found peace and reflection in nature’s embrace.

Jose's legacy lives on through his beloved family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Claudia Rico Rivera; his son, Joel Sosa Rico; and his daughter, Emily Sosa Rico. They remain his greatest source of pride and joy, holding dear the memories and love he shared with them.

Mass of Christian Burial at half past four in the afternoon of Friday, May 9th, 2025 in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 810 W Chapel Hill St, Durham, North Carolina 27701.. His family appreciates the support and condolences received during this difficult time and asks for continued prayers and thoughts.
