It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of Joseph L. Jimenez, a devoted father, trusted friend, and compassionate servant to his community. He passed away peacefully on April 26, 2025, at the age of 84 surrounded by the family he so dearly loved.
A longtime CPA, Joe built a career founded on integrity, kindness, and a genuine desire to help others. His clients were never just clients; they became lifelong friends who trusted him not only with their finances but with their dreams and their stories. His wise counsel and steady presence were gifts to all who knew him.
Outside of his professional life, Joe found joy in the simple and beautiful things: the quiet wisdom of a good book, the soothing strains of classical music, and the camaraderie of a round of golf with dear friends. He believed deeply in giving back, dedicating countless hours to supporting charitable causes close to his heart. His life was a testament to selflessness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to the betterment of others.
Above all else, Joe loved his family. He enjoyed family gatherings and always had a joke or some wisdom to share. Joe loved telling stories and interesting facts from the many books he read as well as his life experiences. He prided himself on being a teacher of life to many.
He is survived by his wife Mary Ann nee Henneike of 60 years, loving son Fred H. Jimenez, loving daughter Janice L. Gont (Bill), dear granddaughters Megan and Hailey, brothers Raul, David, and Harry, countless friends, and all those whose lives he touched with his extraordinary spirit.
A Celebration of Joe’s Life will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, with a Memorial Visitation from 2:00-5:00pm and a Memorial Service beginning at 5:00pm. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his memory to Mercy Home for Boys and Girls; 1140 West Jackson Boulevard, Chicago, IL 60607 or The Cradle; 2049 Ridge Avenue, Evanston, IL 60201, organizations that were so close to his heart.
