Barbara Wilde.

She entered the world

Wrinkly and pink

Having stayed in utero longer than anticipated

Establishing even then that she would live

The way she saw fit.

Her childhood was filled

With stories of stubbornness,

Strong-willed independence

And unwavering confidence

Necessary gifts

Bestowed upon her.

Throughout her life

Struggle and strife

Always lurked nearby

Continuously challenging

Her unwavering fortitude.

She wore those hardships

with quiet strength

Still able to share

Compassion and grace

With those in need.

With ferocity,

Barbara raised her girls

Doing everything

And anything

To ensure their well-being

Paving pathways out of rubble

Granting access to dreams

She never got to dream

Herself.

Visitation will be held Friday from 12-2 pm at Scanlan's, with a 2 pm service finalizing the visitation period. Cremation will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Lupus Foundation of America or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
