Beersheba Springs, Tennessee – Mr. Charles Edward Dudley, 86, passed away Sunday April 27, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. Ed was born June 18, 1938, to Homer and Janie Goad Dudley of Monteagle, Tennessee.

He married Pearl Elizabeth Weaver on October 27, 1960, in Rossville, Georgia.

Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Weaver Dudley; brothers, Roy Vaughn (Josie) Dudley, Joseph William “Buddy” Dudley, Homer Finus Dudley, Jr; sisters, Irene (Alford) Scott, Jewel (Louis) Sullivan and Lorene (Eugene) Hargrove.

He is survived by his three daughters, Terri Dudley, Kim (Corey) Matheson and Beth (Alex) Hernandez; grandchildren, Jon (Sherye) Fults, Justin (Autumn Cleek) Fults, Chelsea (Huey) King, Jill (Jason) Summers, Kayla (Robbie) Miller, Hank (Brentni) Rymer, Blake Hernandez, Gavin Brady, Haley Lessner; great grandchildren, Zoey, Karmyn, Jaxton, Keaton, Jenson, Charlotte, Tucker, Cooper, Myla, Taylor, Ellis, Jayden and Chase; sister-in-law, Grace Dudley; a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Ed attended the Little Creek Baptist Church. He was an electrical engineer and pastored several churches throughout his life. Ed loved his family, and his greatest desire was that they all would come to know the Lord.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Ministers Justin Fults and Dal Barrett officiating with burial to follow in the AirView Cemetery with Hank Rymer officiating.

Visitation: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM Tuesday at Layne Funeral Home, Altamont, Tennessee.
