Marilyn Gore (nee McKay) beloved wife of Barry Gore of Vulcan, AB, passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at the age of 76 years.

Marilyn was born in Vulcan, AB, on August 25, 1948, where she spent the first and last parts of her life. She married Barry Gore in 1968.

A dedicated nurse, Marilyn graduated from the Foothills School of Nursing in 1969, followed by a bachelor’s degree in nursing and a master’s degree in Adult Education from the University of Calgary. She volunteered with many groups in Vulcan, including the UCW, and the Mental Health Committee.

Marilyn accomplished much throughout her life and was particularly proud of being a very active grandmother and her nursing career. She loved spending time with her family around the table and in the garden. She will be most remembered for her incredible energy, her masterful storytelling, and her ability to brighten the day with a hearty laugh.

Besides her loving husband Barry Gore, Marilyn is survived by her daughter Linda and her son-in-law Mel, of Calgary, AB; her son R.G. Cameron, of Vulcan, AB; and her grandchildren, Miles and Glenn, of Calgary, AB. Marilyn is also survived by her sister Elizabeth Jean of Vulcan, AB, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Marilyn was predeceased by her parents, G. Carson and Catherine McKay, and her brother C. Grant McKay.

Memorial Services will be held at Vulcan United Church (213 – 2nd Avenue South, Vulcan, AB) on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Vulcan Cemetery (Vulcan, AB). Reception to follow in the Church Hall.
