Lap Hing Leung, age 84, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2025, in Royal Oak, Michigan. Born December 29, 1940, in Taishan, China, Lap started Hainan University in 1960. This was where he would meet his future wife, Shuk Ching Ng. Prior to graduation, Lap moved to Hong Kong, eventually opening and owning a coffee shop. In 1963, Lap would reunite with Shuk once again. The two married in January 1967; they shared 58 wonderful years of marriage.

In 1971, Lap and his family immigrated to the United States, where he began work as a cook and later became the proud owner of Kwong Tung Inn in Detroit. He was a devoted father to Gorman Leung and Sherman Leung, and a cherished brother to Kam Ying Yon (the late Man Yee Yon) and Ying Kum Mui (See Yee Mui).

Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home, 3725 Rochester Road, Troy, MI 48083. Lap will be laid to rest at White Chapel Memorial Cemetery, 621 W Long Lake Road, Troy, MI 48098.
