Lillie Pearl Jeter Rice, 91, of Buffalo, SC died on Sunday morning, April 27, 2025 in Union Medical Center. A native of Union, SC, she was born to the late Mr. Timothy and Mrs. Maggie Jeter on February 16, 1934. She was the wife of the late Emanuel Rice Sr., and was the last surviving member of a family of eight siblings. Mrs. Rice was a member of St. Luke Baptist Church, where she joined at an early age. She was employed with Buffalo Mill for more than thirty years and loved to sing, cook, and spend time sitting on her front porch watching cars as they passed by.

She was preceded in her life's transition by three children; Patricia Rice, Manuel Rice, Jr. and Nelson Rice; and one son-in-law, Tommy Ray Thomas.

Mrs. Rice leaves to cherish an abundance of memories to her seven children; Carol Thomas of Buffalo, SC, Shirley (Melvin, Sr.) Young of Union, SC, Steven Allen Rice of Seattle, WA, Larry Wayne (Patsy) Rice of Auburn, GA, Paul Darryl Rice of the home, Jeffery Scott (Deborah) Rice of Gaffney, SC, and Anthony  Gerard (Wonda) Rice of Columbia, SC; thirteen grandchildren, Marlon Thomas, Aquita Rice, Melvin Young, Jr., Corey Thomas, Kevin White, Damien Rice, Timothy Rice, Rodrick Young, Erica Hill, Shawn Rice, Antoinette Rice, Camisha Rice and Courtney Rice; twenty-three great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.

The family will receive friends at 304 Lukesville Road, Buffalo, SC. Arrangements are with Community Mortuary, 361 Meansville Road, Union, SC.
