Funeral service for Larry Gene Waits will be held on Wednesday April 30, 2025, at 3:00 pm at Griffin Funeral Home in West Monroe, La. with Philip Bedenbender officiating and burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Calhoun, LA.

Larry was born on August 18, 1949, in Arcadia, LA, passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 26, 2025 in West Monroe, LA. Known for his warm sense of humor, affable nature, and sharp wit, Larry's presence enriched the lives of those around him.

A devoted husband to the late Rebecca Waits, he was a cornerstone of love and support within the family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Rosa Waits.

Survived by his children, Joe Waits, Nicole Tolbert, Jennifer Waits, and his cherished grandchildren, Ryleigh Boyer, Ayden Tolbert, Sage Frith, and Davion Frith, Larry was a shining example of a committed father and grandfather, instilling values and joy in their lives.

An avid outdoor enthusiast, Larry's passion for fishing, hunting, and gardening were paralleled only by his love for sports, especially football and horse races and his dogs. His intelligent approach to life's challenges, combined with a genuinely friendly disposition, made him a beloved figure. Larry's humor, friendship, and intellect will be profoundly missed.
