George D. Beniamin Obituary

George D. Beniamin, devoted husband of Mary; loving father of Christine (John) Michael, Claudine (Billy) Mendo and David Benjamin; cherished grandfather of Daniel Michael, Ramsen Michael, Edessa Michael, Kamber Michael, Johnny Michael, Luke Mendo, Zach Mendo and Lily Mendo; dear brother of Lidia (late Abraham) Brikho, Margaret (late Edward) Zaia, William (Beronia) Beniamin and the late Sargon (the late Helen) Beniamin will be missed by nieces, nephews and many friends.

George was a devoted husband, loving father, a nurturing first born, faithful spiritual leader, a body building champion, a skilled tailor, a successful entrepreneur, a poet and a writer, a theologian and a magnet for knowledge in all of its forms. His life was shaped by his deep faith in the Lord, unwavering dedication, discipline, and a strong zest for life and adventure.

George’s life journey started in Mosul, Iraq. He spent his formative, teen years, and adulthood on the beautiful Mediterranean coast in the city of Banias where he raised his family. George immigrated to the Chicago area with his family in 1986 where he continued to provide, lead, preach and shape lives of not only his family but all who he met.

George’s honesty, integrity, generosity and warm smiles left a lasting impression on those around him. He was deeply loved and respected, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed by his presence.
