A Catholic Mass for Patricia Diane Sawyer, 79, of Eustace is scheduled for 8:30 a.m., Friday, May 2, 2025, at St Jude Catholic Church in Gun Barrel City, Texas with Father Bowlin officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.

Mrs. Sawyer passed away on April 23, 2025, in Tyler.

Patricia Diane (Gonzales) Sawyer was born on December 8, 1945, in Dallas, Texas, to Elias Gonzales and Rose Marie (Garcia) Gonzales. She was a dedicated member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Gun Barrel City and a devoted homemaker. Patricia had a passion for gardening, enjoyed spending time outdoors with animals, and loved fashion. As a caretaker, she cherished moments with her family. Her many grandchildren affectionately knew her as "Gigi," and she held each of them close to her heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Bruce Noel Sawyer; and by her brother, Robert Gonzales.

Survivors include her children, Tina Rene Rios of Dallas, Priscilla Diane Morones of Dallas, Dana Kaye Aguirre of Fort Worth, Michele Suzanne Martinez of Eustace and Bruce Noel Sawyer, Jr. of Eustace; her brother, John Michael Gonzales of Eustace; her grandchildren, Amy Manzanares and husband Hector, Nicole Rios, Anthony Morones, Lauren Freeborn and husband Charles, Valerie Morones, Brianna Garza, Stephanie Chavez, Zachary Chavez, Homer Martinez and wife Kayli, Jennifer Morrison, Vanoie Harris, Ryan Sawyer, and Meagan Sawyer; her great-grandchildren, Isabella, Natalie, Gabriel, Nicholas, Ashton, Scarlett, Peyton, Seth, Grace, Sophia, Bentley, Jace, Layla, Emmy, Jonah, Jackson, Sienna, Ivy Quinn, Mia, Addison, Jemma, Ava Marie and two great-great grandchildren, Noah and Ivy Rose.

Serving as pallbearers will be Bruce Sawyer, Homer Martinez, Vanoie Harris, Anthony Morones, Hector Manzanares and Robert Gonzales.

Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. with a Catholic Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens.
