Shirley Wickizer, 85, of Scranton, passed away Saturday, April 26th, at Willow Brook Place, South Abington Twp. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Charles Wickizer.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late John and Charlotte Brenner Weber and was a graduate of West Scranton High School. A former member of St. David’s Church in Scranton, Shirley worked as a seamstress in the local garment industry and later as an aide at Allied Services.
Everyone who knew Shirley could tell you how sweet she was, how talented she was at ceramics and sewing, and how much she enjoyed watching baseball, football, and golf.
Shirley is survived by her niece, Karen Dolan; her great-nephews, Joseph Sandrowicz, Patrick Dolan, and Ryan Dolan; and other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Agnes Hunsinger and Ann Blasko; and her brother, Joseph Weber.
Shirley’s funeral will be on Thursday, May 1st, at 10 am at the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home, Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City.
