Philip Wayne Snyder was born October 27, 1955 in Williston, ND to Frank and Mary (Taylor) Snyder. He was raised and educated in Williston.
As a young man, Philip worked by mowing lawns for the churches he attended. He later worked as a dishwasher at Country Kitchen, moving up to a fry cook. He was also employed at Trappers Kettle, Dakota Farms and Ginger’s Café, and worked a short time, bagging groceries, at Family Thrift Center.
Residing at Prairie View, he would deliver Meals on Wheels to residents living there.
He was proudly granted several Volunteer of the Month or Year awards through the Meals on Wheels Program at the Heritage Center. Not wanting to sit idle for long, Philip delivered newspapers for the Minot Daily and Bismarck Tribune. He also worked at Gingers Cafe, and the Heritage Center. Philip was president of the Golden Age Club at the Heritage Center. They would gather on Wednesday evenings, enjoying each other’s company while playing Whist and Pinochle Tournaments.
Philip found great joy in camping, fishing, playing Uno and other card games. He also liked doing Word Search Puzzles, finishing Jig saw puzzles and gluing them to make wall hangings as well as making things from Plastic canvas. He found the love of traveling around the country visiting relatives with his parents. Philip enjoyed people and would do whatever he could to help them out. He loved stock car racing. Not wanting to interfere with his Bingo days, he would often ask to have Dr. appointments rescheduled. Philip was also a member of the Williston Moose Lodge.
Philip enjoyed going to church and proudly ran the sound system during services. After moving to Bismarck, he attended the Methodist Church with a friend from the Terrace Assisted Living. He later attended services at Missouri Slope on Hillview where he lived.
Philip is survived by his brothers, James Snyder, Kenneth Ellingson, Bert (Mary) Snyder, Tim (Laura) Snyder, Sister Margaret "Peggy"(Chuck) Scott.
He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Mary; grandparents, James Snyder, Gertrude (Edmund) Pariseau and Joseph (Molena) Taylor
