Mr. Jack Dale Clodfelter, 88, a resident of Lexington, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the High Point Medical Center. He was born on June 2, 1936, in Davidson County, to his parents the late Beaulah Crotts Clodfelter and Wade Clodfelter. Jack worked several years in the trucking industry. He started his career with Cummings Diesel in Greensboro, then moved on to Piedmont Ford. He then started Clodfelter Salvage and Jack’s Transportation. Jack finished his trucking career in 2023, as an instructor at Davidson-Davie Community College. He was a member of Mt Zion Wesleyan Church in Thomasville. In his spare time, he would volunteer with Meals-on-Wheels with his buddy, Boyd Burcham. He also enjoyed mowing grass, fixing small engines, and spending time outdoors. Some of his favorite joys in life were the times spent with grandchildren and great-grandchildren at sporting events and different activities. Jack never met a stranger and he would give a helping hand to anyone in need. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine “Gerrie” Hege Clodfelter; and his grandson, Ben Livengood.
Surviving are his two daughters, Kim Livengood and husband Steve of High Point, and Diane Hege Gray and partner, Jon Apfeld of Merritt Island, FL; granddaughter, Stephanie Cross and husband Caleb; widow of his grandson Ben, Katie Livengood; great-grandchildren, Ellie Livengood and Daniel Livengood; grand-puppy, Winston Gray; his sister, Kathie Hughes and husband Barry; and special niece he loved like a daughter, Donna Carney and husband Mike; and Donna’s children, Jessie and Brett Palmer.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at 2:00 PM at the JC Green & Sons Chapel in Thomasville, with Dr. Steve Livengood and Pastor Stephen Storey officiating. The family will greet friends prior to the service from 12:30 to 1:45 PM at the funeral home. Burial of ashes will follow the service at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Thomasville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Senior Services of Davidson County: Meals-on-Wheels program, 555-B W. Center Street Ext. Lexington, NC 27295.
