Bradley Warren Ward Obituary

Moreau

Bradley Warren Ward passed away at 2:50 AM on Saturday, April 26, 2025, surrounded by the two people he loved the most in this world, his wife Karen and his son Ben. He was 77 years old.

Brad was born in Asbury Park, NJ on May 28th, 1947, to Lillian Warren Ward. Shortly after birth, his mother moved him and his sister, Anne Baldwin, to Hudson Falls where they lived for Brad & Anne’s childhood.

Brad was an outstanding athlete as a child, playing both football and baseball for Hudson Falls High. Football was his real love, and that love earned him a scholarship to Central Missouri State University where he played for (4) years while receiving his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in criminal justice. Upon graduation, he played (1) season with the Kansas City Chiefs on their practice squad before he came home to Hudson Falls.

Back in upstate NY, Brad began a distinguished 30-year career in the corrections field. He started at Greenhaven Correctional before moving to Comstock Correctional and then finishing his career as a senior counselor at Washington Correctional facility in Comstock, NY. Brad also continued to play football with several of his childhood friends for the Semi-Pro Hudson Falls Greenjackets for many years later. Post football, Brad enjoyed refereeing football, playing softball & golf, and fishing.

On August 1st, 1987, Brad married Karen Farley. He and Karen shared a love of many things including golf and travel, the latter of which they did a fair amount of after they retired, much of it with the local Catholic church. Some of their favorite destinations were Ireland, Scotland, Germany, Poland, Italy, the midwestern US and North Carolina where his son Ben, Daughter-in law Amy and his (2) grandkids Griffin & Quinn live.

Brad’s special gift was his sincere desire to help other people. Whether it was helping the elderly out, delivering meals for less fortunate people, or volunteering to serve Thanksgiving dinner, he really felt a calling to help those in need.

Brad is survived by his wife Karen and her (2) children Jimmy and Shane Farley, his son Ben, Ben’s wife Amy and their (2) boys Griffin and Quinn Ward and his sister Anne Baldwin, her husband Bill and their (2) children Jeremy and Billy.

A funeral mass will be conducted at 10am on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at St. Mary’s Church 62 Warren St, Glens Falls, NY 12801. A reception will be held after for family and friends.

In lieu of flowers Brad would ask you to donate in his honor to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
