Richard (Dick) Zierer, age 77, of Waterford, Wisconsin, entered heaven on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at his residence, Eldercare Cottages, with his daughter Christina and son-in-law Joel lovingly by his side. He was welcomed into eternal peace by the arms of Jesus and reunited with his beloved sons, Adam and Justin.  

Dick was was born on June 26, 1947, in Phillips, Wisconsin. He was raised on a farm, where he developed a love for animals— especially his horse, Prince, and his loyal German Shepherd. In his early adulthood, Dick moved to Milwaukee in search of work and opportunity. It was there that he met the love of his life, Elizabeth (Lizzie) Lunde.

A hardworking and skilled craftsman, Dick founded Zierer Masonry— a company he built with pride. He took great joy in sharing his trade with his son Adam, and together they helped lay brick on Christina’s house—memories and craftsmanship that Christina and Joel cherish deeply. 

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Virginia Zierer; his infant son, Justin Michael; his cherished son, Adam John; and his nephew, Kent Zierer (Julie).

He is survived by his brother, Mike Zierer (Lottie); his nephew, Brent Zierer (Christy); his son, Richard Zierer; his first wife, Bonnie Helton; and his former wife, Elizabeth (Lizzie) Lunde. He also leaves behind his devoted daughter, Christina Cowan, and her husband, Joel. Dick will be fondly remembered by his close friends Bob Weisheim (Michelle) and Richard Sicchio; his longtime dear friends Burt Krieling and Greg Randall. He was a proud grandfather to three beautiful grandchildren: Dominic, Anthony, and Gianna.

A private graveside service will be held at St. Peter's Cemetery in Waterford.  A celebration of Dick’s life will be held on Sunday, May 18th, 2025, from 12:00–3:00 PM at Integrity Celebration Center, (2789 Browns Lake Dr. Burlington, WI 53105).
