Linda Marie Vinklarek Keys passed away to our loving Father in Heaven on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at the age of 74. Immediate family surrounded her as they ate dinner and socialized, exactly as they had growing up. She is survived by that immediate family (Jerry - spouse of 39 years, Erin - daughter, Jenica - daughter, and Ryan - son), her three young grandchildren (Harlen, Jett and Jace), and a large and loving extended family.
Linda had spent over two years battling pancreatic cancer with an incredible combination of strength, grace and unwavering faith. She fought, but with a softness and acceptance that was propelled by prayer and prior experience with cancer just 30 years before. Though she suffered, she lifted it up to God for the sake of others.
That selflessness was the cornerstone of Linda's life. She was the eldest daughter of nine kids, and worked hard from a young age taking care of those siblings and tending the family's hog farm in Cistern, Texas. Linda was responsible, conscientious and tenacious - which translated well to the career she pursued as well as the contributions she made to the local community, her church, and her family. From Casis PTA to St. Vincent De Paul, Meals on Wheels and the St. Austin Catholic Church Funeral Ministry, Linda was always looking for ways to help and lead.
Linda rarely sung her own praises, but she was proud of her graduation from the University of Texas at Austin with a BA in Accounting, and her subsequent CPA licensing. She was also proud of her work digitizing records for the Texas Secretary of State Office, where she met dear, lifelong friends. Linda was incredibly sharp and unafraid to ask questions; she tackled every pursuit with an abundance of care, passion, and dedication to excellence.
In the spirit of her giving nature, memorials may be made to the following organizations: St. Vincent de Paul or Meals on Wheels. Flowers are also warmly welcomed.
