It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved father and grandfather, Peter Baynes Whittaker, of Northbrook, who left us peacefully Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at the age of 92. Devoted son of the late Robert and Louise, née Rea, Whittaker, he was born January 15, 1933, in Winthrop, MA.

Peter was the most kind, thoughtful, and supportive man anyone could hope to know. His unwavering love for his family was the foundation of his life and the legacy he leaves behind. He lived with quiet strength and gentle wisdom, always putting the needs of others before his own and showing up with open arms and an open heart.

Peter also had a lifelong passion for golf. Whether he was out on the course enjoying a sunny day or watching a tournament with a glass of Scotch in hand, the game brought him joy, calm, and connection.

To know him was to be loved by him – truly and unconditionally. He offered encouragement in moments of doubt, comfort in times of sorrow, and joy in the every day. His presence was a gift that made the world feel safer and brighter.

Beloved husband of the late Susan, née Ewald; dear father of Rebecca (Trevor) Howard and Charles, Thomas (Cindy), and the late Peter Whittaker; loving grandfather of Emily, Charlie, Will, and the late Peter; fond brother of the late Robert Whittaker and Mary Bednarski.

Service and Interment private.
