Anthony (Andy) Charles Tiggleman March 8, 1945-April 23, 2025
Andy left the cares and woes of this world on the evening of Wednesday, April 23, 2025 for his reserved seat in the tenor section of the heavenly choir. Now he is singing with gusto, praises to our Lord.
Andy was born on March 8,1945 to Cornelius (Jake) and Charlotte Tiggleman. He grew up on the west side of Grand Rapids, where he went to Covell Elementary, Oakleigh Junior High, and graduated from Union High School. After high school, he joined the United States Army, where he served for five years. It was in Germany where he left his mark as he ran into a house with his tank and left it in shambles. While serving, he helped with the funerals of his fallen comrades in the Vietnam War. Upon returning to civilian life, he met the girl of his dreams, Geraldine (Gerri) Immik. It was love at first sight for him. They married on August 14, 1970, and began their journey together. During this time, he threw himself into working in produce, often stopping at various stores throughout the states on their travels to see what their produce looked like. He immersed himself in golfing, fishing, softball, bowling, and traveling with his family. He hit all 50 states. As the grandkids arrived, he thoroughly enjoyed attending their school and sporting events and was frequently seen on the sidelines cheering them on. Andy had a deep faith and served in numerous capacities at the churches he attended. At LaGrave CRC, he was seen in the tenor section weekly, joking with the other members. His goal was to do the job God had for him.He felt called to make people feel welcome. He did this through his infectious smile, “dad” jokes, and contagious laughter. We know he was welcomed into his next life with the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Andy is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Joy, Casey, and Connie. He is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Gerri Tiggleman, his daughters, Jill (David) Kuiper, and Karrie (Beau) Bellgraph, his four grandchildren, Caleb and Kendra Kuiper, and Rabeka and Benjamin Bellgraph, his sister-in-law’s, Ruth (Jim) Strohmer, Mar (Tom) Higgins, nieces and nephews, numerous extended family and friends who are family.
The family would like to thank the staff at The Cancer and Hematology Center at Lemmon/Holton, The Commonwealth at East Paris, and Gentiva Hospice.
