Mr. Jerry Coker of the Rock City Community was pronounced deceased at 7:10 p.m. Wednesday evening April 23, 2025 at the age of 57 shortly after arrival at the Highpoint Health-Riverview Emergency Room in Carthage after being discovered unresponsive by his wife at their Lebanon Highway home.
Eld. Barney Allison and Bro. Mike Turnipseed will officiate at the 1 p.m. Monday afternoon April 28th funeral services from the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home.
Burial will follow by his mother at the Willow Grove Cemetery in the Templow Community of Trousdale County.
The Coker family will receive friends only on Monday April 28th at Sanderson in Carthage from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service.
The son of the late Earl Junior Coker who died January 6, 1988 at the age of 56 and Shirley Thelma Forkum Coker Whited who died April 5, 2008 at the age of 62, he was born Jerry Wayne Coker in Hartsville on March 24, 1968.
Mr. Coker was preceded in death by a nephew, Ren Skyler Coker, who died at the age of 27 on September 8, 2024.
Mr. Coker was a 1986 graduate of Trousdale County High School and was a non-denominational Christian.
He was united in marriage on March 20, 1999 to the former Sharon Rena McCormick. The ceremony was performed in the Bethpage Community by Bro. Garland Barrett.
He was a heavy equipment operator for PI CO Construction Company before becoming disabled in 2011.
Surviving in addition to his wife Sharon of twenty-six years are three daughters, Jennifer Coker and fiancée Danny Perez of Lafayette, Candise Hicks and husband Dee of Illinois, Shandie Alfieri of Paw Paw, Michigan; David Sevinsky and wife Jennifer of Chestnut Mound, Dustin Coker and wife Kaden of the Rock City Community, Justin Coker and wife Katelynn of the Rome Community; two brothers, Bobby Coker and wife Kim of Carthage, Terry Coker and wife of Hartsville; special niece, Ariel Coker; fifteen grandchildren.
