Dennis Lee Shaffer, 81, of Reynoldsville, PA, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, while a patient at Penn Highlands DuBois in DuBois, PA. Dennis was born on July 24, 1943, to the late Irvin Gibson and Ruth Bowser in Ohio. He graduated from Reynoldsville Area High School. He proudly served with the United States Army with the _ Airborne. Dennis worked at Brockway Glass for 31 years until retirement. He married Janet Chase in June of 2005 in Reynoldsville; Janet survives him. He enjoyed golfing and football. He was an avid Steelers fan and used to coach football teams in the Reynoldsville area. Above all else, Dennis loved spending time with his grandchildren: Jesse (Tabitha) Nissel, Isabel (David) DeLarme, Emily (Devin) Gray, Garret Nissel, Kaylee Nissel, Ivy Nissel, Colton Nissel, Sophia Nissel, Clara Nissel, Gabriel Marshall, Brittny (Chris) DeMotte, Bethany (Bob) Rehm, and Meghan (Troy) Braddock, enjoying all their ideas and activities. In addition to his wife, Dennis is survived by four children: Mark Shaffer, Allen “Tink” Marshall, Kelly Jo Nissel, and Jenna Shaffer; eighteen grandchildren; four great-grandsons: Waylon, Carter, and Levi; and good friend: Dave Slima. In addition to his parents, Dennis is preceded in passing by one son: Denny Shaffer. All services will be held privately to the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Snyder – d’Argy Funeral Home, 206 E. Main Street, Reynoldsville, PA 15851. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Reynoldsville, Jefferson Co., PA.
