David "Dave" Stark, a devoted husband, beloved father and grandfather, and respected educator, passed away peacefully on the morning of Wednesday, April 23, 2025. Born and raised in Saginaw, Michigan, on January 20, 1949, Dave was a lifelong member of the community he so dearly cherished and served.

Dave, dedicated his professional life to educating and counseling generations of students in Saginaw Township schools. His compassion, guidance, and unwavering belief in the potential of young people left a lasting mark on countless lives. To his colleagues, he was a steady and thoughtful presence. To his students, a trusted mentor and tireless advocate.

Outside the classroom, Dave's greatest joy came from his wife and family. He was the kind, fun-loving father who made even the smallest moments memorable - full of laughter, support, and thoughtful advice. As a grandfather, he delighted in the laughter of his grandchildren and took pride in every milestone, near or far. His fun-loving spirit and kind heart were constants in the lives of those who loved him.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Stark, and his sister, Patricia Mehltretter, all of Saginaw, Michigan. He is survived by his loving wife, Susan Slade Stark; his daughter, Jodi Lee, and son-in-law Jon, grandson Jack Lee, and granddaughter Avery Lee of La Grange, Illinois; his son, Steven Stark, and daughter-in-law Heidi, and granddaughter Lexi Stark of Denver, Colorado; and his brother, Bob Stark, and sister-in-law Jenny of Saginaw, Michigan. Sister-in-law Barbara Slade Peters (Richard Peters) and brother-in-laws Richard Slade (Sue Slade) and Reiner Mehltretter.

Final arrangements have been entrusted to Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1550 Midland Rd., between State & Gratiot. In lieu of a funeral or memorial services, Dave's wishes were simply that his legacy of compassion, humor, and dedication live on in those he taught, counseled, and loved. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
