Violet Moore Frye Obituary

Violet M. Frye, 90, of Greenville, SC, was called home on April 23, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late John W. Frye, with whom she shared 25 years of marriage. Violet was the cherished daughter of the late Walter James and Nanny Ruth Moore.


Violet had a deep love for gardening and reading, passions that reflected her peaceful and nurturing spirit. Above all, she will be remembered for the immense love she had for her family, her unwavering faith in the Lord, and her selfless heart—always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need.


She is survived by her loving children, son Alex Frye and daughter Lisa Frye; daughter-in-law, Patti Frye; and her treasured grandchildren, John Frye, Michael Frye, Christian Frye, Patrick Davis, and Tami Dais; her precious great-grandchildren, Kimberley Frye, Jasmine Frye, and Linda Frye, as well as her dear brother, Henry Moore.


In addition to her husband and parents, Violet was preceded in death by her siblings: James Moore, Rochelle Medlock, Charlie Moore, Geny Morrison, Joyce Bond, Wally Moore, and David Moore.


Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, located at 1301 Boiling Springs Road, Greer, SC 29650. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM prior to the service. Burial will follow at Greenville Memorial Gardens, 7784 Augusta Road, Piedmont, SC 29673.


Violet’s legacy of love, faith, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
