Luis F. Pereira Obituary
Luis F. Pereira, 93, of Danville, NH, formerly of Peabody, MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at Exeter Hospital. He was surrounded by his grandson, Christopher Schroeder and his wife Laurie, both of Danville, Nh. He was the beloved husband of the late Maria G. (Cunha) Pereira with whom he shared many wonderful years of marriage until her passing in 2018.
He was born in Horta, Faial, Azores on October 22, 1931 and was the cherished son of the late Jacinto CostaRita and Idalina Pereira CostaRita.
A landlord for many years he enjoyed working daily at his properties with his wife Maria. Along with spending time with his close family he was a avid fan of soccer, history, and watching Westerns.
Luis is survived by his daughter, Anna Maria Pena and her husband Jose; his son-in-law, Richard Schroeder; his sister, Maria Fernanda da CostaRita; and 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Sadly, in addition to his parents and wife, he is predeceased by his sisters, Maria de Lourdes Alves and Maria da Conceicao Valadao; and his brothers, Mario Costa and Carlos, Francisco and Victor CostaRita.
The family will be accepting visitors on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 from 8AM to 8:30AM before leaving in procession to Our Lady of Fatima Church in Peabody for a Funeral Mass at 9AM. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Salem. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Luis’ memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital by visiting www.stjude.org.
